Photofilmstrip is where simplicity meets the ability to show hundreds of pictures in one film strip or video. This piece of software was designed for the novice and professional alike, making out-of-the-ordinary computer skills unnecessary. Complete a few straightforward steps, and you'll be well on your way to creating personal photo mementos that make perfect keepsakes or gifts for friends and family. The clean user interface is inviting, and there's a how-to page just in case you get stuck because there's a very good chance it might take some practice before your first film is built to your satisfaction.

The software, once installed, allows you to create a video for which you can control the speed and length and even add your own music. Essentially, you're creating an animated slideshow that works in the same manner as an animated GIF. Keep in mind that Photofilmstrip is very basic, though. You'll be able to add effects like zoom and pan, insert text captions, and use filters, but it doesn't go too far beyond those features.

To create your new photo video on Photofilmstrip, select your pictures, choose the motion path, and hit complete. Customize as much as you would like, and know that you'll have a few output viewing options like HD, DVD, and VCD. When you're ready to show off your vacation photographs, graduation pics, or the birth of your new child, gather everyone around your computer or television.

Considered by happy users to still be a work in progress that can develop into much more, Photofilmstrip makes photo sharing fun while keeping the process simple. The software uses the "Ken Burns effect," a reference to the filmmaker who revolutionized sound and motion in historical documentaries. Just as Mr. Burns was able to bring life to aged black and white photographs, so you'll be able to do the same to your pictures.
